SARAD GmbH is participating in a European Union project aimed at improving waste separation during the decommissioning of nuclear facilities. Under the title FRESCO—Development of equipment for the detection of ionizing radiation in waste, fragmentation, and separation in order to minimize the release of radioactive material into the environment, the Czech company Via Alta/MIFRE, the Czech Technical University (ČVUT), TU Dresden, and SARAD are working on a system that measures and classifies waste by radiotoxicity as it passes along a conveyor belt. SARAD GmbH is responsible for aerosol monitoring in this project.
